The Colombia national team made its protocolary arrival at the 2026 World Cup with official uniforms designed by MAZ, led by Colombian designer Manuela Álvarez. These uniforms are the result of a proposal that combines contemporary design, sustainability, and ancestral knowledge.
What's behind the official uniforms?
The initiative brought together members of the Curarte and Suma Killa collectives, led by Eisen Jacanamejoy and Teresa Jacanamejoy, who participated in a creative laboratory to incorporate elements of the Camëntsá worldview into the design of the garments.
How were the uniforms created?
The result was over 70 uniforms made with over 450 meters of cotton fabric elaborated artisanally on a horizontal loom. On this basis, an exclusive monogram of the Adidas Trifolio was printed using a technology that does not use water during the printing process.
What does this project mean for the Colombia national team?
This project represented an opportunity to continue exploring a question that has guided MAZ's work: how can contemporary design dialogue with artisanal knowledge to represent a country's identity? Colombia comes from a streak of 2 wins, with a recent record of 3W-2D-0L, and their last result was a 3-0 win over Australia on November 19, 2025.
